Amethyst Dance Festival Online Dance Competion & "Best of" Awards

Reasons to Compete in the Amethyst Dance Festival Online Dance Competition:

*Entries and contestants will not be posted. Contestants have the opportunity to compete and be evaluated by judges without the additional pressure of being viewed publicly.

*The online competition format is great because each contestant can put his or her best foot forward by only submitting top quality performance clips. This also allows for a high level of competition as each contestant will have the chance to do so.

*The evaluations for online competitions can be more precise as a judge can pin point moments in the clip to allow for a more thorough critique.

*Low fees - Because all of the judging is done online and we don't have to use the theater stage, we can keep the entry fees low!

*Multiple categories and awards allow each contestant to really showcase and earn recognition based on his or her strengths.

Rules/Policies:

*MUST be an Amethyst attendee to participate. (Purchase a workshop, vending spot, General Admission pass, Gala ticket and/or perform in one of the shows) Winners to be announced and prizes to be awarded on stage during or directly following The Extravaganza (Time frame depends upon number of participants).

*Judges' decisions are FINAL.

*Scores will not be issued. Contestants have the opportunity to select the evaluation option.

*ALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE

*Late entries will not be accepted. All Materials must be submitted by Feb. 17, 2020

*All participants must agree to be available for the Awards Ceremony in the event that he or she has won a title.

*Winners grant The Amethyst Dance Festival rights to use their images for promotional purposes.

*Contestants have the right to opt out of a runner-up and/or finalist title, but that must be marked on the entry form. The number of finalists and alternates selected will depend upon the number of entries. Prizes and awards for finalists/alternates will be determined by the number of entries.

*Judges' decisions are FINAL. Each category with more than 1 contestant will be judged by a panel of at least 3 judges. The judges will list their votes for the winners as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th placements. If there is just one entry in a category, that entry will automatically win.

*The Judging Panel will be comprised of current and former Headliners, 2020 Accelerated Workshop Instructors and/or Event Hosts. These potential judges will not be eligible to compete, and students of these individuals may not request their own mentors/instructors for judging. (The exceptions to this rule are the Best Instructor & Best Troupe Director Awards - The selections for the Best Instructor and Best Troupe Director will be made by the Amethyst staff. Nominees and the individuals who submit the nominations must be Amethyst attendees.)

*The Amethyst Dance Festival may be posting winning clips (Top Performers & others selected for promotional purposes). Contestants must not submit clips that violate copyrights and/or are considered the property of any other entity.
